In the movie, ‘Night at the Museum’ — Ben Stiller’s character comes up with an idea of a ‘Snapper’. That device allows you to turn ON/OFF a light by snapping your fingers. The roadblock he finds is that there is another product called the ‘Clapper’ which steals his product’s thunder. He failed to identify in his research that it was easier for people to clap as opposed to snap their fingers. Though it is a humorous scene, it underlines a strong product development principle.
