I can shake off everything as I write; my sorrows disappear, my courage is reborn— Anne Frank
Momento | Jour
Both of these journaling apps are pretty good in different aspects. Jour helps in relieving some of the mental burdens. Jour asks leading questions. On the other hand, I have been using Momento for a couple of years. It is a great way to read through some of the minute details that I have written over the years. It did not provide much mental clarity but it is perfect for capturing memories especially with the pictures.
In Brendon Burchard's ‘High-Performance Habits’, he recommends forming three key phrases that you can use as reminders throughout the day. These trigger questions help you instantly align. In my usage, I have found them pretty useful. My trigger questions are a. Have I been compassionate? b. Have I been engaging? c. Do I feel content?
Prior to using these trigger questions, my journaling frequency was pretty poor. Using these trigger questions did the trick for me. After I started casting my journals along these questions, the frequency exploded (100x change). Not only did my number of entries increase, but it also made journaling fun.
