Three times I was tricked.

Scammers are like roaches. They appear wherever there is even a drop of opportunity exists. And, they move fast. ‘Squid games’ was released in September of this year. And, within a month, they set up a cryptocurrency (called ‘SQUID’) and scammed to the tune of a few million dollars.

Last year, I set up an LLC that would handle our development of the app ‘Fit$’ along with some other ideas. After I had finished the paperwork, I received a letter from the state treasury requesting a payment. To say that I was excited to shell out money to get this paperwork done is a mild understatement.

Later this year, I received the same letter again but my enthusiasm had dampened a bit. Also, it felt a little early for the state to be asking for money again. So, I procrastinated. One day before the deadline, I drove up to the local post office to mail the check. As I was dropping off the check, the clerk says to me “This mail address is suspicious and is sort of known for being a scam!”. I was taken aback. The letter looked so genuine and I took a closer look. Unbelievable…
